Beyond IPD 101: Experiencing Validation, Value, and Collaboration
Integrated Project Delivery is often described through contracts, processes, and principles. But what does it actually feel like to participate in an IPD project?
This highly interactive workshop places participants within a simulated project environment, guiding teams through a faux Validation process from project inception through early planning and decision-making. Working in multidisciplinary groups, participants will explore owner value, establish Conditions of Satisfaction, navigate cost and schedule constraints, respond to emerging risks, and experience how collaboration, transparency, and integrated decision-making influence project outcomes.
Along the way, participants will be introduced to key IPD concepts including Validation, Target Value Delivery (TVD), Big Room collaboration and planning, risk management, and team alignment, while gaining practical insight into how these principles are applied on real projects.
Whether you are an owner, designer, contractor, trade partner, or advisor, this workshop provides a practical introduction to the "how" and "why" behind Integrated Project Delivery.
